As we step into summer, we’re coming out of the completion of a 10-month home renovation and feel excited to entertain and connect with so many of our new friends. With this newfound energy, I’ve been focusing on creating Pescatarian Recipes for Summer Entertaining.
What has been truly astounding to me though, is how the more I heal, the more my passion for cooking and baking – along with a lot of other handsy hobbies, like gardening and crafting – are pouring through and out of me.
I had so much trauma, unprocessed energy, living in me for so long that took over my mind and body and showed up in my emotional state, my physical health, in my overall wellbeing, my behaviors and lifestyle.
I was easily triggered, had low capacity for distress, poor sleep – at times insomnia and the only way to feel somewhat ‘normal’ or mentally and emotionally balanced and able to navigate the world without too much relational and emotional disruption, was to go to crossfit 3-4 days a week, run 2 days a week and then work like a fiend all day, while also managing a home and 3 kids.
But the more I’ve healed, the more spaciousness I am able to access and therefor create in my life – to hold and be with my own emotions and self, to enjoy myself, to hold and be with my kids and their feelings, to rest, to play, to connect, to explore
but in addition to the spaciousness I feel, I have opened up so much life force that is now being channeled into cooking and baking in a way that feels deeply nourishing to engage with
Even though I didn’t grow up with a mother in the kitchen at all, as my Indian mother grew up with servants who cooked for her and my mother was always working when I was growing up, I feel this deep reconnection to the craft of cooking that does feel familiar and healing.
As we have embarked on a season of entertaining in our home and even just enjoying more family meals together,
I have channeled my life force energy into cooking nourishing, pescatarian meals for our family meals and our guests and it’s been a real gift for all.
I do believe the energy of which our food is created with translates to the health and wellbeing we experience when we intake it. And I am truly loving this experience so I trust it is creating good in other’s body’s which is so rewarding!
The last round of recipes were so incredibly good that I just have to share them with you and give credit where credit is due to those who created them. My pictures do not do them justice!
All of the recipes I’ve cooked are all healthy, nourishing and have been true crowd pleasers!

*I edited the recipe to use what I had on hand and desired to use which was Dandelion greens, shallots and onions. I used low fat coconut milk and swapped feta for goat cheese
